Getting a mortgage with debt - Jan 2009 Whoop!

In Jan 2009 my debt will be below £20K. Only 14 months away! Once this milestone is achieved I shall start looking for a house and mortgage, with the aim to buy and be moved in for Xmas 2009. Unfortunately Alex is going to have to save the deposit, we will need about £7K and probably an interest only mortgage until the final bits of my debt are repaid. This does mean I will have to sit tight until then, with my mother going slowly more round the twist. I might email HSBC laying all down on the table and  asking for their honest advice to whether this is possible….

No more spending…..

I am been a real spend thrift these past few months and it is now time to batten down the hatches. I still have £268 to pay towards my cars service, and I have been hopeless as saving. I need £600 in Feb for my car insurance and tax, and I have £250 saved. I have six months. Last year £1000 was sufficient for ‘things’. I have been at a stale mate since March, but if I just save £200 a month from now on, that will sort it.

On the Holiday front, we shall have £840 towards our flights to Dubai - the flights from Emirates should be around £400~ for Late November 2008. We want to go to Paris in May too. Saving £40 a month is a great idea, as my only bill really is my car insurance Feb, then service and MOT in June. I have nothing else to save for! I am paying my debt like a trooper. Long live the month I can have that £627 to myself!

New Computer……

Filed under: Debt, Whats gone tits up today then? — Red July 5, 2007 @ 8:45 am

Another dell, mid range, 2gb memory….£429…..didn’t really want to buy a new computer till next Jan, but my little basics lap top has run outta juice, and just can’t cope with what I need to run now. It might also be due to the fact I have let my mum use the computer to open her emails in the last month or so and she opens all the spam emails and I have had virus’s coming out of my ears. Mcafee had a heart attack every time she used it. I am going to strip it down to the basics, so it can be used as extra storage space and mums spam filled evil emails.

Happy Debt Day!

Yes, this time last year I decided to join payplan. To date I have paid off £8123.57 off my debt. In September I will have crossed the £30K marker, and finally be in the 20’s. Its taking a long time, but I will be debt free soon. My attempts to save more money to put towards the debt have failed. Car Tax, Car insurance,Car Service, MOT, raising EVERYTHING prices, my petrol costs £20 more a month now….having to eat…… have all gotten in the way. I do wonder whether its all worth it? The bankruptcy avoidance? Maybe I shall ask!

Being and Avon Sales Leader

I am really having a great time being and avon rep and sales leader. Its such a great way to earn extra money every three weeks. Being self employed as well as PAYE makes the books easier as I am used to it. Once thing they kinda don’t mention in the meetings is having to tell inland revenue about your extra income. Most Avon rep’s do not work other than Avon so they are usually under the tax barrier ANYWAY. I am fast making my way to around £75 from my patch and £125 from being a sales leader. So an extra £200 every three weeks approx..roughly an extra £3400 a year profit….suits me with a full time job. Some reps earn over £6000 in a year…..

Oh did i say £3400 profit in a way you thought I could spend it? Oh no….my £35K of debt will swallow that up in no time. But if I can keep the earning consistent, it takes off 11 months off my debt repayment scheme…..
